The U.S. stock markets are preparing to open, and there are some notable movements in pre-market trading. WestRock Co. (WRK) has seen a 7.2% increase, while UiPath Inc. (PATH) is up by 4.3%.
Several stocks are also posting gains in early trading. GameStop Corp. Cl A (GME), Morningstar Inc. (MORN), and Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) have all seen increases of at least 3%. On the other hand, Amkor Technology Inc. (AMKR) and Rollins Inc. (ROL) have experienced declines of 12.3% and 6.8% respectively.
Looking at the futures market, the S&P 500 futures are down 0.34%, with the futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 0.03%. The Cboe Volatility Index futures, however, have seen a 0.99% increase.
Moving on to commodities news, Brent crude oil futures have fallen by 0.56%, while gold futures have risen by 0.04%. As for Bitcoin, it has climbed by 0.13% and is currently priced at $25,710.
In other financial news, the 10-Year Treasury yield has slipped to 4.276%.
During the previous regular trading session, the S&P 500 and the Dow experienced decreases of 0.70% and 0.57% respectively. Asian stocks have also been on a downward trend, with Japan’s NIKKEI 225 Index falling by 0.75% and China’s Shanghai Composite Index declining by 1.13%.
As we approach afternoon trading, European markets are showing mixed results. The STOXX Europe 600 Index has declined by 0.06%, while the FTSE 100 Index has seen a small increase of 0.23% from the previous close.
