U.S. Futures Show Slight Increase
In the U.S., futures for the S&P 500 showed a modest gain of 0.2%, while futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by the same percentage. However, it’s important to note that changes in futures may not accurately predict movements after the opening bell.
European Stocks on the Rise
In morning trading, the Stoxx Europe 600 experienced a gain of 0.8%. Notably, Games Workshop Group saw an increase of 7.3% and MorphoSys climbed by 6.6%. Conversely, H&M Hennes & Mauritz B dropped by 4.3% and THG lost 3.5%. The FTSE 100 also added 0.8%. France’s CAC 40 gained 1.2%, while Germany’s DAX climbed by 0.9%.
Dollar Index Declines
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index fell by 0.1% to 99.28.
Crude Oil Prices Rise
In the commodities market, Brent crude saw a rise of 0.5% to reach $94.19 a barrel, while WTI crude gained 0.6% to reach $90.71 a barrel.
Bond Yields Experience Mixed Movement
The German 10-year Bund yield rose by 3 basis points to 2.627% from 2.596%, while the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury climbed by 1 basis point to 4.305% from 4.296%. As a general rule, bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Mixed Performance in Asian Stocks
Stocks in Asia displayed mixed performance, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 index gaining 1.1%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng climbing by 1.2%, and China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite declining by 0.3%.
