In a recent announcement, J. M. Smucker revealed its plans to create a strategic business area called Sweet Baked Snacks. This new division will be overseen by the experienced executive, Dan O’Leary.

This decision comes as a result of Smucker’s recent acquisition of Hostess Brands. As part of the Sweet Baked Snacks business area, the renowned Hostess and Voortman brands will be included. O’Leary, who previously served as the chief growth officer for Hostess Brands, will now assume the role of senior vice president and general manager for Sweet Baked Snacks and Pet.

Additionally, O’Leary will also manage the Pet strategic business area, which encompasses the company’s dog snacks and cat food businesses.

It is worth noting that Smucker has various other strategic business areas in its portfolio, including Coffee, Frozen Handheld and Spreads, as well as Away From Home and International.

In an effort to streamline its operations, Smucker has established an integrated portfolio management organization. This move aims to align the company’s strategy, finance, transformation, and information services under the leadership of Chief Financial Officer Tucker Marshall.
